About Craighead Education Strategies

Sam Craighead, Founder and Principal Consultant for Craighead Education Strategies, brings over a decade of leadership in education, governance, and adult learning and development. As Board President of Groveport Community School, Sam led board meetings and task force formation, directed recruiting and onboarding, and facilitated annual strategic planning retreats. Under their leadership, the board established an arts and academics scholarship fund, directed 1:1 technology access for students, purchased building facilities to secure long-term stability, and received awards for financial sustainability and excellence in financial reporting.

Sam’s expertise extends to higher education, where he served as Associate Director of Professional Learning at The Ohio State University. In this role they built and led a team responsible for institution-wide professional learning programs, delivering over 60 virtual workshops and courses to more than 1,000 participants each year. During this time, he also spearheaded the launch of the Teaching and Learning Resource Center, a cross-departmental collaboration that has connected over 100,000 users to evidence-based teaching resources.

Sam has directed large-scale national conferences and facilitated workshops, curriculum design meetings, and learning communities for educators and administrators. He is adept at project, program, and change management and experienced working at the intersection of people and systems, having led recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts for multiple organizations.

Sam’s volunteer work includes serving as a judge for Ohio Science Olympiad and Ohio History Day, a member of the Franklin County Digital Equity Coalition, and an instructor for TEMPO Music and Arts Camp.
